Description:
"Rejoice as summer should…chase away sorrows by living.”
- Melissa Marr
The searing summer days can be utilized through summer camps to rejuvenate and inculcate the children with various skills. Summer camp was organized at St Joseph's convent school from 23rd of May to 28th May 2022
which was participated by about 100 students.
Every new day was commenced with prayer followed by exercises like Yoga, Zumba exercises, action songs etc.
Sr. Principal motivated the students with her wisdom of words. The coordinator Mrs Parvinder provided her best to look up the overall arrangements of the events.
The summer camp held the activities that helped to develop the physical, mental, psychological, and social aspects of a young student's life. Our aim was to improve the immediate and future quality of life for the young people through educational, recreational, and cultural activities. Therefore, numerous activities were conducted by teacher incharges.
Art: Kids love drawing, painting, crafting. This was the perfect time under the guidance of Miss Teena, they were able to accomplish their skills. Art and craft activity was full of fun.
Sports : Mr. Balwinder Paul enthusiastically guided the students with sports activities such as yoga, skating, badminton, racing . Miss Mandeep assisted him and conducted some fun games for students. Moreover, the students were instilled with virtues of discipline, dedication and sportsmanship.
Music: Sr. Sherina was the best music teacher one could have. She sowed the seed of love for music in the learners with her melodious singing. Pupils acquired the skills of playing various musical instruments harmonium, guitar, tripple, Casio, etc.
Dance: “Sun is shining. Weather is sweet. Make you wanna move your dancing feet.”
- Bob Marley.
Mrs. Ambika and
Mrs. Parminder Kaur took their role as the dance incharges and we found students enjoying learning the steps. Many of the students keenly learned dancing moves.
Folk dance: Bhangra and Giddha are two important folk dances of Punjab loved by everyone. Miss Seema and Mrs. Ashima fulfilled their duties sincerely teaching the students. This cultivated the students with love for Punjabi tradition and culture.
The students learned so much, and they also taught us adults much about laughter, hope, and energy. We are grateful to all who contributed to this successful Summer Camp, especially to our volunteers and staff for their commitment to creating opportunities for young ones.
Altogether, It has been an enjoyable Summer Camp in which everybody had the chance to interact with their peers and learn new knowledge, information and games that nourished their mind.
